The movement wants to mobilize the population and make the initiative, officially present in 70 countries, grow even more and encourage donation as a habit.
Mobilize Brazil so that we have a more generous and supportive country, strengthening the habit of giving as part of people's daily lives. This is the main objective of the Day of Donation, which will be held on December 1, in a year marked by the Coronavirus pandemic. In May, due to the spread of covid-19, an extraordinary edition was made, the Day to Donate Now, which mobilized more than 14 million people and 2 million reais online.
On December 1, the Day of Donation will encourage millions of people across the country to take actions of generosity, inspiring others to do the same, in a great wave of solidarity and donation. One of the challenges this year is to make the movement even more grassroots, more local, with dozens of community campaigns across the country. In 2019 there were 30 campaigns, in places such as Gramado (RS), Sorocaba (SP), Jardim (MS) and Sergipe. In addition, this year it is also expected that Donation Day will stimulate even more donations to combat the effects of the coronavirus, which reached the unprecedented mark of 6 billion reais, according to the COVID 19. Donation Monitor. data wants to reinforce that the donation can become a permanent act, regardless of emergency situations.

Since 2013, Brazil has participated in the Dia de Doar, which began a year earlier in the United States, created by the New York organization 92Y. Currently the campaign is worldwide and has the official participation of 72 countries. The #GivingTuesday (donation Tuesday), as the date is known, is always promoted on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, following the already famous commercial dates like Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Participation
Various materials to publicize the movement, suggestions to encourage action and tips for organizations are available on the website here on this website - www.diadedoar.org.br. There are arts, posters, videos, folders etc, but the proposal is that each participant of the Dia de Doar make their own campaign, with freedom to adapt, create their initiative and, both organizations and donors, share on social media with the hashtag #diadedoar , so that the message reaches more people and donation is an instrument of social empowerment.
The Dia de Doar exists thanks to the unity of each person who takes action, either donating or encouraging the donation of individuals, companies, organizations.
Achievement
The Dia de Doar is carried out by the Movement for a Culture of Donation, a network formed by people and organizations that voluntarily articulate themselves with the purpose of rooting the donation as part of our culture. The Brazilian Association of Fund Raisers (ABCR) is organizer of the Day of Donating and official representative of the date in Brazil. This year, the mobilization has the strategic partnership of the José Luiz Egydio Setúbal Foundation, Mol Institute, Bem Maior Movement and Umbigo do Mundo.
